The
Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia provides the following high quality education
and training programs for mental health professionals and for select
professionals from other fields whose work would benefit from an
understanding of psychoanalysis:

Psychoanalytic
Institute: Adult Curriculum
The Psychoanalytic Institute
provides a contemporary curriculum which offers a complete understanding of
psychoanalytic theory encompassing modern classical and relational
perspectives. It is approved by the Board of Professional Standards of the
American Psychoanalytic Association.

Psychoanalytic
Institute: Child and Adolescent Curriculum
The Institute’s curriculum in Child
and Adolescent analysis is also approved by the Board of Professional
Standards of the American Psychoanalytic Association.

Adult
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program
The Adult Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapy Training Program offers a 2-year curriculum to clinicians
with masters or doctoral degrees in their field. The curriculum focuses on
the central roles of development, unconscious processes, and intrapsychic
conflict in the formation of personality and psychopathology, and on the
psychotherapeutic process.

Child
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program
The Child Psychoanalytic
Psychotherapy Training Program offers a 2-year postgraduate program
designed for child psychotherapists of diverse backgrounds and for other
professionals who work with children and their parents and who wish to
further their understanding of child development, the inner world of the
child, and the technique of psychoanalytic psychotherapy with children and
adolescents.

Fellowship
Program
The Fellowship Program offers one-
and two-year fellowships to both clinical and non-clinical applicants in
order to provide an introductory or focused acquaintance with
psychoanalysis for the enhancement of the Fellow’s professional work.

Continuing
Education Programs
The Continuing Education Programs
provide a variety of opportunities for mental health clinicians to maintain
and improve their clinical awareness and skills.
