The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia provides high quality education and training programs to mental health professionals, and to select professionals from other fields whose work would benefit from an understanding of psychoanalytic theory and practice. The Center’s programs include both adult and child Psychoanalytic training programs taught from a contemporary perspective; both adult and child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy training programs; a Fellowship program offering one- and two-year fellowships to both clinical and non-clinical applicants; and Continuing Education Programs which provide a variety of opportunities for mental health clinicians to maintain and improve their clinical awareness and skills.
The community service mission of the Center is designed to provide a variety of programs which offer either direct clinical services or professional consultation to community agencies, or which provide community education about mental health issues, child development and parenting.
