Psychoanalytic Programs: Program Fees & Funding

Current Fees for 2011-2012

Application — $300

Adult Training — $4,388 (years 1 through 4);   $1,881 (years 5 and beyond)

Child Training — $2,346 per year

Simultaneous Adult & Child Training — $4,388 + $1,173 per year

Leave of Absence — $500 per year

Supervisory Fee* — $1,500 (years 2 through 5)-PSA Adult Only

Affiliate Member Dues — $154 (for candidates who wish to join the Center)

* This fee covers 200 hours with one supervisor who is an approved member of our Center. Rates for additional supervision and fees for the personal training analysis are negotiated separately.

Biddle Loan Fund

The Sydney G. Biddle Loan Fund has been established to provide low interest loans to qualified candidates. Inquiry as to qualifications and terms may be made in writing to the Chairs of the Education Committee or the Administrative Director. This fund is administered by the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia.

Veteran's Benefits

The Institute of the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia is approved for Veteran’s Administration education assistance for eligible veterans.

Accreditation and Continuing Education Credit

The PCOP offers continuing education credits to physicians, psychologists, and social workers for its courses and programs on an hour for hour basis. The following statements are in accord with the policies of the accrediting agencies:

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the American Psychoanalytic Association and the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. The American Psychoanalytic Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for the physicians and takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of the CME activity.

The American Psychoanalytic Association designates this education activity for a maximum of 3 hours in Category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spend in the educational activity.

Continuing Education for Psychologists (CE)

The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor Continuing Education for psychologists.  The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

Continuing Education for Social Workers (CE)

In accordance with the requirements of the Commonwealth of PA dated 12/23/06 [49 PA. CODE 47—49], the American Psychological Association is a pre-approved provider for social workers and clinical social workers in the State of Pennsylvania and the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia is approved to sponsor continuing education credits by the American Psychological Association.
